THE BEAUTY

It is our ideal.
Everything about us is geared towards

the search for beauty. True beauty.
Radiant beauty.

Beauty is a game of harmony,
which is why it needs the right environment.
It always has a time and place where it either fits
or breaks away from the norm.
It never exists outside the world
.

Whoever works with hairstyles and cosmetics,
as we do, must study fashion and art.
They must love and experience the world, the places,
the venues, the architecture, the music.
Simply, they must live beauty.

In Paris, the birthplace of La Biosthétique,
beauty takes many forms.
Every single one of us finds it by observation,
by decisions, by focus.

The place. The time. And what we see and feel in it.
That’s our culture. That’s our inspiration.

For beauty.

THE FORM

The form of things.
They say true beauty comes from within —
but it is a person’s exterior
that moves the world.
Nothing is more beautiful than when
content and surface are one, are unified.
The content as form. The shape.

It is what we see
when we meet a person: form, style, texture.
The face. The skin. The hair.
The curves of the body, the momentum,
the energy. The external impression of
what is inside: formed by deeds, decisions, life.
The beauty that we
create when we invent ourselves.
Our fashion, our hairstyles, our style.
Every day.

Nobody more impressively demonstrated the desire to form things than Oscar Niemeyer, the legendary architect of the Parisian building in which we photographed this collection.

He lived for over a century and passed away in 2012, just a few days before his 105 th birthday. The work this prodigy left behind might have taken other architects many centuries to complete.

For him there was no state that couldn’t be changed or improved. No end to the quantity and quality of beauty. No limits.

« What attracts me, is the free and sensuous curve that I can find in my country’s mountains, in the meandering flow of its rivers, in the clouds in the sky, in the body of the woman I love. »

Oscar Niemeyer –

Niemeyer married for the last time when he was 99 (his bride was 38 years younger). True beauty comes directly from everyday life. And can be found in each and every day.

WARM WINTER RED

The seduction of hair colours: luscious golden ginger in long locks, accented by elegant colour reflexes. The long locks are sometimes casually tousled and given a glamorous vintage Hollywood style – the result is sensuous femininity.

THE MAKING OF

[su_youtube url=”http://youtu.be/CM8KVH39Zr8″ width=”870″ height=”780”]

OSCAR NIEMEYER

He built the capital of his home Brazil, Brasilia, highly political like all his works of architecture — the Niemeyer building in Paris in which these photos were taken, is the headquarters of the French Communist Party — supported by the steadfast belief that the world can be shaped, fought for if necessary: there is no form that cannot be built (Niemeyer was one of the first advocates for the possibilities of steel concrete).

Born as Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho in December 1907 in Rio de Janeiro as the son of a German, he died in his home town in December 2012 at the grand old age of almost 105 — 105 years full of life, work, creativity and vision.

His work included futuristic masterpieces such as the UN Headquarters in New York (which was a joint project with Le Corbusier) and the Copan Building in Sao Paulo, which houses 1160 apartments and 5000 residents, making it the biggest residential building in the world.

For the building of the headquarters of the French Communist Party at the end of the 1960s, he did not charge a fee — and built a curved palace on Place du Colonel-Fabien for a future away from capitalism, with a glass façade that was interpreted as a symbol of transparency, with an underground domed hall that represents the fertile womb of revolutionary changes; today, some tourists dub it a «UFO», which landed on earth from a parallel world that will always remain partly in the future.

Niemeyer looked back on a century of achievements, spent in Brazil and in exile in those years in which the lifelong Marxist had to flee from the military dictatorship in his home country and for which, for instance, Paris owes the building on these pictures.

«Whoever deems themselves important is an ass», he said. «We have friends, women and happiness. But we know that life only lasts a minute.» But when you live life to the fullest, some minutes last a hundred years.
